Water, Baby!
Hi! I’m Emma. My Daddy said I can host this “Photo Friday”.
Today the topic is “Water”.
As long as I can remember, I have loved water.
My Mommy and Daddy used to give me baths in the kitchen sink…
Then they got me this really cool Rubber Ducky tub. I thought that was as good as it gets, until one day…

Me and Daddy were out for a walk. I could hardly believe my little eyes!!
My Daddy said it was called a “Swimming Pool”.
I was about to find out why Auntie Mel Mel got me this bikini.
My cousins came over to see what I found!
I showed them exactly where it was.
They all jumped in.
My cousin Andrew did a cannonball…
and Matthew slid in carefully.
Then Karalyn plugged her nose and jumped in…
Mommy and Daddy got me this real neat boat.
I would be lying if I said I didn’t enjoy myself.
Daddy kept taking pictures of me.
IT GOT KINDA OLD!!
But I digress.
I had so much fun, I think I’ll let it slide.
I made a new friend! She had a boat too
After swimming I toweled off
And drip dried a little bit…
I held Auntie Mel Mel’s hand and skipped all the way home!!
It was a good day.
I’m Emma, and I LOVE WATER!
And this concludes my Photo Friday!

July 10, 2009A Guided Tour of…
My Sim’s House
I went through some photos hoping to find something worth giving a tour of. I had many options, but decided that I would let my sim, known as “Sim Shaney” give you a tour of his home.
Hi! I am Sim Shaney. Welcome to my Home.
————————————————————

This is my Living Room, Designed by my Sim wife, Angie.
———————————————————————-
This is where we watch TV, and visit with company.
—————————————————————–
This is our Intergalactic kitchen.
And here is our breakfast bar, attatched to the dining area.
————————————————————————–
The rest of our house is still under construction, but we still use it.
————————————————————————————
This is where the band, who is also my family, practices. There’s Emma on the guitar, Angie on the drums, Chelsea at the DJ Booth, and Jack on the piano. I play the Bass.
——————————————————————————————
Whenever we’ve had a rough day, there’s always a nice hot tub waiting for us.
——————————————————————————————
This is my daughter Chelsea’s Room.
And this is my daughter Emma’s room. Jack’s room is a disaster so we will just skip that.
All of my kids have their own race cars which occupy my garage.
This is the master bedroom, which is obviously still under construction.
HEY!… who let that pic get into the blog?
In the back yard we have our own skating rink.
And that’s about all there is to see. Thank you for visiting!

Photo Friday- Bridges/Arches
October 17, 2008Bridges/Archways
Alright, this subject was a bit of a challenge for me, because i dont have many bridge pix, and very few archway pix that i can think of… so i did a little digging and here’s what i came up with.
a very short bridge at Tingley Beach
This would be the only real archway pic i’m giving you today.
This is a painting at Saggio’s pizza place- the whole thing appears to be in an archway.
**please notice that Godzilla is in this picture too**
Under a bridge
this would be the bridge i am under in the picture above

My New Route
October 4, 2008DHL is downsizing, scrambling to find ways to hang on to some money. if you read the previous blog about my job, you remember that my route was cancelled recently and i was placed on the dock. Sticking around and waiting for something to happen paid off… sort of.
A few weeks ago Rich informed route 301 that he was going to be taking over route 335s area on top of the area he already had. That driver quit the next day. plan B was to get the driver from 335 to do it. He took everything out, delivered everything on 301’s side, and wasnt able to deliver anything on his origional side of the route. Rich told him at the end of the work day that he had to take all that other stuff out, and he refused to, (mostly cuz they were all businesses and they closed at 5) so rich fired him haha. So Rich finally turns back to me. ” do you think you can handle it?” he says… to which i replied, YES!!!
so i come back in Monday morning ready to bust out this monster route… this picture does not do it justice but heres basically what it looks like.
on a slow day i take out 70 stops. the route doesnt seem like its that hard, the tricky part is figuring out how to make it flow. i can practically do the downtown side with my eyes shut, but the area in the heights is messing with my head. i cannot seem to get the order of the streets down, and it seems like i’m only making left turns. its a Race with the clock. i have to have some things off my truck by 10:30 am, some other things off by noon, and some other things off by 3:00. in the middle of all that theres ground pieces that can be delivered whenever, as long as they get delivered, and i have a pick up route on top of all of this. Some places want their stuff picked up by 1:00 pm, which throws everything off.
The first day i took over this route, my gps unit got smashed in the back door of my van. That messed everything up for me… making me resort to the ever confusing map book. Thats too hard for me to use, so i actually resorted to google maps. When i had the gps, i would enter all my addresses, and when i’d get to a stop, i’d look to see what the next closest one is and go there. it saved me soooo much time. so when the gps broke, i had to come home and google all my addresses and write down directions to each place- sounds like alot of work, but actually it saved my butt haha.
i went out on wednesday and bought a new gps unit. this one is a lot different from the one i had before… better in a lot of ways, and at the same time, trickier to use. i havent figured out how to make it route for me like the other one did. i’m sure i’ll get it, but its gona take some experamenting, which requires time, which i dont really have while on route- but i am getting the hang of it. The last 2 days of my route, i got attempts on every piece of freight in my van, and brought back like 5 peices that could not be delivered because of things like signature required or a COD payment. when i master this route, im hittin em up for another raise, and then im gona take a vacation.
i will say this… I’m not bored on this route. LOL
Photo Friday
October 3, 2008someone was messing with my alarm clocks and they are almost 4 hours ahead, so i got up hella early, which works out cuz i have time to actually make a photo friday post!

IF IT ISNT LOUD, IT ISNT MUSIC.
a few years back i met this dude named Stavros. He ran a studio called Poetry Television, which was a great idea… on Monday, Wednesday and Friday every week he had concerts. When he found out i’m into photography, he put me to work. fortunately, i got to keep all the pictures i took- theres no way i can share all of them with you or you would be reading my post for days- so heres the best of those pix (in no particular order)

the HAVOC rocked the house so hard the cops showed up 10 minutes after they started playing to shut the show down.

if i find them again, i’d go back to see em again.

Jackson4

Jackson4

random bass plucker

some members of another band before they went on stage

(because of the location of poetry studio, it was never a crowded house… hard to find cuz the entrance was in an alley)

this was one of my favorite shows- “To See You Broken” a group of 4 punk chicks

“To See You Broken”

Random guitar dude- wish i remembered what band that was.

This is Meg… shes from Santa Fe. She came all the way down here with her band and put on a show, just for me and my camera. there was nobody else there

This is Meg’s bass player.

this is me outside the Poetry Tv studio, smokin it up with the graphiti.

there is no editing involved in this pic… these r Stavros’s drums under dim light- i love the grainy-ness of the shot.
