Emma’s 1st time in the Pool

July 13, 2009

Last night I took my daughter outside for a walk around the playground.  She wasn’t too interested in going on the slides, and didn’t seem as excited as usual to go on the swings with her  daddy.  There was even a puppy on the playground, but she didn’t care if she got to pet it or not.  She seemed to be kind of bored with the same old playground equipment.

I walked her up to the pool to let her watch everyone playing, and i literally had to pry her little hands off the bars to take her home so i could get her dressed to go swimming.Photobucket

on the walk back home, she found the puppy again, and it started chasing her. That was fun for a sec, but she still seemed a little bored. So I went on ahead and brought her home and told her momma we’re goin swimming. Origionally her mom didn’t want to go with us, but i wanted her to come along and snap some pix for me, so it took a few minutes for her to get ready. By the time we got to the pool, we had 10 minutes to swim. The water was nice, not too cold.  Emma was clinging to me like a scared kitten, and then i started moving her around the pool.  At one point I was walking around holding Emma out in front of me, and a person popped up from under the water right in front of us to avoid running into my legs.  Emma got a good laugh out of that.  We were having a hard time getting photos of Emma in the water because she likes to turn her head when the light goes on.

Right after these pix were taken it was time to get out of the pool because they were closing it down for the night.  Emma was NOT happy about that.  She cried until we put her in the stroller, and when we got home she kept going back to the door, trying to open it, and she would not rest until we took her back outside.  We were only able to go for a walk around the complex, which was good enough for her, but swimming was a big hit and i’m sure we are going back today- Emma has to swim in her new Bikini that she got from Auntie Mel-Mel.

I’m back!

July 8, 2009

Hi everyone! I’m finally back on the net. Don’t get too happy; not much has changed around here except Emma’s getting bigger and i’m gaining weight. blaaah! I’m still jobless, and quite frustrated, but at the same time enjoying my days where i get to goof off with my family and play with my daughter. I have had this itch to blog for about the last week or 2 and couldnt find a blog that would actually let me sign in on my phone. My phone has been my source of internet for the past 7 months, and thats fine except i spent a whole lot of time waiting for pages to load and reload. so why am i on the internet now? you ask?… well, my wife’s sister in Virginia decided to be a dear and help us out, so she bought us a cricket broadband usb modem. We didnt think we were gona be able to hook it up til next week cuz we just paid rent and we are broke as a joke, but cricket gives you your first month free. so Woo-Hoooo!! we are back. I will be glad to read all of your blogs again, and I can’t wait for Friday to get here so i can get busy posting for Photo Friday. Hope to hear from everyone soon

Life without the Internet

November 26, 2008

My internet has been down for 2 weeks now- its been a long time since i have been without net at home.  I am still able to access the net via my cell phone, but its just not the same.  I cannot sign into wordpress because of an “untrusted certificate” whatever that means, but i can and do still go visit everyones sites.  Finding things to do that don’t involve the web seems very difficult now- i play with Emma til she falls asleep, play games with Angie until the games get old… the rest of the time i’m on my phone wishing it had better internet access.  The job search has been very slow and unproductive, but at the same time i am realizing im glad to be out from under DHL. (small update on DHL– i ran into one of my co workers the other day and he said the Albuquerque station is going out of business, last day is February 14)  After thinking about it, the whole time i was there they handed me all the crap they couldnt get anyone else to do.  I have decided i am going to ride the unemployment til at least after christmas- unless something comes up, of corse.   yesterday i recieved my first unemployment check- if thats not incentive to get back to work, i dont know what is.  you cant pay for anything on what they give you.  I guess its a good thing theres no net at my house right now, because if there was, i’d never leave.  last night i played Grand Theft Auto: san andreas til 530 this morning- then went to sleep.  its been ages since i stayed up all night doing useless crap such as that, but i have many frustrations, and there is no better way to handle them then to go around san andreas and blow peoples heads off, or run them over, or steal their cars.  yeah, i’m a little irritated for reasons i cannot discuss here, and being without net definately does not help anything.  so i guess i’ll be back whenever i get back- til then i’ll be communicating thru my phone or spatulahandle’s computer. see ya when i see ya :)

Our High School Mascot

November 12, 2008

The high school i went to was never run by the smartest bunch of individuals… I’m wondering if the class of  ‘61 pulled one over on the administration.  This is the actual Mascot from my high school, from an angle that my communication skills teacher pointed out to me.  I don’t think i ever laughed so hard in my life- and i never forgot about Mr. Bivens for showing me that. A couple years ago i went back to my High school to swipe a couple pix of the statue again. here’s what im talkin about.

PhotobucketFACT: the “wiener” is actually a thumb on the Matador’s left hand.  Do you think they did this on purpose when they were making it? or is was my communication skills teacher a perv?

The End…

November 7, 2008

I got laid off last night- i actually thought i might survive these cuts a little longer, but they didnt seem to happy about cutting me loose, which made me feel pretty good. either way, i’m back on the job hunt. :|

I have to do this one a little differently-
Photobucket
^you all saw what my camera does to action shots^

U.S. Postal Service, Here i come!

November 6, 2008

This has been a bad week for DHL- since Tuesday 5 people have been laid off… 4 drivers and a dock worker.  Those of us that are still there are scared shitless that today could be our last day.  Here’s what really sucks.  I get my vacation starting on November 15. and i’m praying that my job lasts long enough for me to get that vacation- and when i do get my vacation, I am going to have to spend it lining up my backup job.

I sure hope the Post Office will take me- Angela and i were talking about this last night.   Starting pay for a mail carrier in New Mexico is 18.00 an hr. my problems would be over.  I have worked for DHL for more than a year, and i barely got them to give me a raise back in july- and when they did give me that raise, it was only enough to cover the health insurance that i never got.  Theres not too many reasons to stay with this job other than to get my vacation. That really sucks too, because now that i’ve gotton used to my route, I like it. but freight has been dropping- a normal day can be up to 80 delivery stops and 25 pickup stops.  i’m down to about 40 deliveries a day and i picked up a new pickup route area on top of my downtown/old town stuff… so at least i’m semi-busy.

time to get ready for work

My Vote

November 4, 2008

First of all, I would like to say that everything leading up to this Election day has made me want to pull my hair out- I am not happy with the choices we have. In fact, im pretty disgusted with both of em.

First theres Obama who thinks he’s the winner already, and the way things are looking, he could be right.  To me Mr. Obama is exactly what this country does NOT need- sure we need to CHANGE a few things, but i dont think the change he wants to bring is for the good of America.  I think the change he wants to bring is only going to cost Americans tons of money, and God knows i’m barely making it as it is.  I do not like the company he has kept, from Bill Ayers (”I don’t regret setting bombs”) to Jeramiah Wright(”god D*MN america”), to his own wife who hates America the way it is. What exactly is this Change he is gona bring? take our guns away? spread my money around? raise prices on everything? yea nothanx.

on the other side, we have John McCain who runs the dullest, stupidest campaign in the history of America.  I like the man for who he is, and what he did for our country, and he deserves respect for that.  But, ever since he got the republican nomination by default cuz everyone else dropped out of the race, his campaign has left a LOT to be desired, such as running ads that are relivant to this election.  bringing Paris Hilton up in one of his negative ads for Obama was just the beginning of his uber retarded campaign.  it seems he has always been a day late and a dollar short thru the whole campaign, almost as if he wants Obama to win too.  there’s no fire behind this guy hes just… blahhhhhhh, which disturbs me too… what terrorist is gona be afraid of this guy?

My vote goes to Kermit the Frog.
